Sudoku - history, tactics, description and interesting facts
Sudoku is our favorite, almost math puzzle. The standard "playground" of Sudoku is the usual 9th order Latin square.
Recently, when Sudoku has gained particular popularity in the CIS countries, its large circulation is actively published by newspapers and other printed publications from different countries of the world. Many people can no longer imagine their leisure time without a sheet of paper with "Sudoku" in their hands.
The playing field, as already mentioned, is a square, with dimensions of 9 by 9 cells. It is divided into smaller squares of 3 cells, which means that there are 81 cells in the whole field.
According to the conditions, at the beginning of the game, some cells are already filled with numbers. And it is on the basis of the location of these numbers that we will solve the puzzle. The fill level of the square is proportional to the severity (or lightness?) Of the game.
The only goal of the game is to fill all the cells with fitzers so that every number is not repeated in every column, row and square 3 by 3.
Professionally designed puzzles have only one solution.
The simplest subspecies of Sudoku is the so-called "even-odd". According to the terms of this game, in addition to the initial numbers, there is one more hint - some cells are filled with a certain color, which, depending on the rules, means - an even number here, or an odd one. But this modification, because of its, I'm not afraid of this word, lightness, did not receive much distribution on the territory of our country.
There are subspecies with banal complications - a square instead of nine by nine has dimensions of fifteen by fifteen, sixteen by sixteen, and so on.
There is another subspecies, several orders of magnitude higher in complexity. In it, instead of prompts in the form of cells filled with numbers, only the sums of the numbers in separate groups are indicated - that is, the site is once again divided into rectangular sections of various sizes, and the sum of the numbers of this block is indicated somewhere nearby.
Another version of Sudoku online, where the blocks are not square, but of arbitrary shape with the same number of cells. For a standard 9x9 Sudoku, these are blocks of 9 cells.
For children, there are also simple Sudoku - 4 by 4, 2 by 2. But for the adult generation, they are almost of no interest. Another interesting modification is diagonal sudoku. Here, the field is not divided into smaller squares, as in ordinary Sudoku, but into diagonals. In them, you need to arrange the numbers in each line, column and on the two maximum diagonals so that they meet once.
Among others, there are some "multi" free web Sudoku (or "Samurai Sudoku"), where the playing field consists of several intersecting squares.
Sudoku gained real popularity only in modern times, when a certain Japanese magazine began to regularly print this puzzle on the back. Maybe the game would have remained popular only in the countries of the Rising Sun, but here, in 2005, the British "Times" also began to publish this game at home, and thus spread it throughout Europe.
The fever gained momentum and continues to this day, since many, not only leading newspapers, but even some regional magazines already consider Sudoku an integral part of their material.
Over time, people in many aspects of life come to experience, and with it - a habit. And among Sudoku lovers, over time, a certain algorithm is developed by which they solve puzzles. Here are some of the most common ways to solve Sudoku with ease:
- Write down possible numbers in small handwriting in the corner of the cell. After that, on the "general plan" it will be possible to see the numbers that should occupy this cell.
- It is absolutely impossible to play Sudoku quickly. Here, the acquired information must be laid out on the shelves in your brain, memorized, reflect, make assumptions. This game is generally considered relaxing (with which the brutal Sudoku-mana clearly disagree, having broken a ton of pencils). Depending on the difficulty, it may turn out that some puzzles will be solved by you almost instantly, others - you can spend whole days.
Be careful. Check your actions often. A single mistake at the beginning of the solution can lead to the impossibility of solving the game. Many people say that if you can't solve easy Sudoku for beginners, then you need to try to solve it later. The solution may appear to you during the course of the most ordinary, weekdays.
